
Jury duty can be especially important for individuals with developmental disabilities because it gives the person an opportunity to send the “I am capable to serve” message to their county and its leaders. Serving as a juror can be a great learning experience not only for the individual, but the other jurors and their community as well; or Individuals with disabilities can permanently be excused from jury duty if necessary (see Step 4).
