Parent Network of Western NY presents the workshop Individualized Education Program (IEP) Practical Advice for Families on Tuesday, Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This workshop will be presented in English and Spanish.

   

An IEP, Individualized Education Program, is like a special, unique recipe to help a child succeed. This workshop teaches parents or caregivers all about the recipe-writing process, including who writes it. Review tips and tools to help gain confidence and to become more involved in the planning and creation of the IEP.

Parent Network of Western NY presents the workshop: Understanding School Behavior on Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. When a child’s behavior creates problems at home or in the classroom, a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) can help. FBA’s are part of the special education process. FBA’s look at behaviors to understand the underlying reasons for a child’s disruptive actions. This workshop helps parents or caregivers by explaining the FBA process. It explains the behavior plans it creates to help everyone cope. The process includes listing goals to create a customized plan for success and can be included in an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
