Youth Power is hosting free self-advocacy trainings throughout New York State. These trainings are designed for youth ages 14 and up with intellectual/developmental disabilities, but all are welcome to attend. Participants in this workshop will learn about disability history, strategic sharing, and plan a future as a leader with the help of graduates of the New York Institute for Self-Advocacy! Light refreshments will be served. These trainings will be offered at the following locations and dates:

  • Capital District, February 21, 5-7 p.m.: Albany Public Library Community Room (161 Washington Ave. Albany, NY 12210)
  • New York City, March 1, 5:30-8 p.m.: 242 W. 38th Street, New York, NY 10018
  • Long Island, March 2, 4:30-7 p.m.: YAI, 555 Washington Ave., Brentwood, NY 11717
  • Central NY, March 26, 5:30-8 pm.: Dunham Public Library, 1027, 76 Main St., Whitesboro, NY 13492
