The Tourette Association of America (TAA) OF Greater NY State is very excited to announce two upcoming workshops presented by the NYS Medical Centers of Excellence, the NY State Chapters of TAA of America and Albany Medical College. They will both take place on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the medical college. The first workshop from 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. will be for all medical personnel and health care professionals only. We are strongly encouraging all parents in the Albany area to give a copy of the attached flyer to their pediatricians, general practitioners, etc. and encourage them to attend this seminar. It is being presented by some of the top specialists on TS in the country including doctors from Albany Medical Center. It has already been widely circulated to all medical personnel in the Albany area.

The second workshop will be for all educational personnel including regular education and special education teachers, school nurses, OT’s, Speech Language teachers, teacher aides and assistants, counselors, school psychologists and administrators. Parents are also most welcome to attend. That workshop will be from 2 to 5 p.m. at the same facility and is sponsored by the TAA of Greater NY State and the NY State DDPC (Developmental Disabilities Planning Council). It will be presented by Susan Conners, M.Ed., president of TAA of Greater NY State and author of “The Tourette Syndrome & OCD Checklist, A Practical Reference for Educators and Parents”. The flyer is being sent to all schools within a 75 mile radius of Albany but we strongly encourage all parents to give a personnel copy to your child’s school personnel. A personal invitation goes a long way. Participants will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance to fulfill their staff development requirements.
