The Staten Island Developmental Disabilities Council's General Meeting Schedule for the 2017 and 2018 school year are as follows from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.:

  • December 8, 2017 (Celebrating Achievements)
  • January 19, 2018
  • February 16, 2018
  • March 16, 2018
  • April 20, 2018

  • June 15, 2018

The meeting room will be open at 9 a.m. for coffee and a light breakfast. An evening meeting will be held with the date and topic to be determined.

   

Other important dates include the Family Resource & Transition Fair on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 and the SIDDC Annual Community Breakfast on Friday, Mar. 2, 2017.

Project Grow presents the group workshops for parents/caregivers of individuals with disabilities: Behavior Management on Saturdays, Dec. 2, 9 and 16 from 10 to 1 p.m. The topics for individual workshops are as follows:

  • Saturday, Dec. 2: How to Improve Thinking Strategies for People with Developmental Disabilities
  • Saturday, Dec. 9: Empowered Parenting: Predictable Parents, Calm Kids
  • Saturday, Dec. 16: Listen, Support Empower (Techniques for helping people with ID/DD with their daily problems)
