The Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, AIM Independent Living Center and Parent to Parent of NYS present Question and Answer Sessions for Parents and Caregivers of Individuals with a Developmental Disability on the following dates:

  • Mar. 29, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m. or 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.at the Schuyler County Human Services Building in Conference Room 115.
  • Apr. 26, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m. or 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Steele Memorial Library Auditorium (in Elmira)
  • May 31, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m. or 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Southeast Steuben County Library (in Corning)

The sessions will cover questions about:

  • OPWDD Services
  • Self-Direction or Family Support Services
  • The Front Door process
  • Transitioning

Frontdoor6.jpgOffice for People With Developmental Disabilities presents Front Door Family Information Sessions which offer participants an understanding of OPWDD's mission and purpose; the process to become eligible for OPWDD supports services; types of supports and services available; and where individuals and families can go to get assistance. Families/Individuals are welcome to attend any session that is convenient for them. Families are only required to attend one session even if there are multiple people in the family to be represented.

Palace Theater, Pathways, START and The ARC of Steuben will be hosting a sensory friendly movie event featuring the film Trolls on Wednesday, Apr. 12 at 11:45 a.m. at the Palace Theater. This will take place during the vacation week of the Corning School District. Everyone who attends will be given a free small popcorn and drink along with entry into the theater.
