Programs and Services MHA Orange County:

ASSIST (Acquiring Social Skills Through Intervention, Support and Training) - Social skill building for children ages 5 - 10 who have developmental disabilities, especially autism spectrum disorders Please Call Natasha Tomlins for more information (845) 342-2400 ext. 254 

Capis (Crisis Assessment and Prevention Intervention Services) - Information, linkage and crisis intervention prevention services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Provides parent support groups, advocacy, life planning, benefits counseling, newsletter and educational seminars.

SIBLING PROJECT-  Social and educational opportunities for the siblings, ages 5 and older, of children with developmental disabilities. Monthly meetings and special events are held. Information provided for parents and professionals.

Parents Run AMOC (Autism Move-A-Thon of Orange County) Together with MHA provides information, training, financial and other support to individuals with autism disorders and their families. Moving Wheels & Heels - Dance Class

MOVING WHEELS & HEELS: An integrated dance class for students of all abilities (wheelchair and stand up), Moving Wheels & Heels explores the joy of movement in a safe and supportive environment. The class combines technique, improvisation and movement to enhance creativity, increase strength and range of motion, and build self-esteem. Classes will have live musical accompaniment.

WJCS Autism Family Center (AFC) is a place where individuals and families affected by an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are able to find supports and services to meet their needs. The AFC serves as a centralized information and referral resource while offering unique program to individuals with ASD and their family members. Individuals and their families can join on a formal or informal basis to build emotional and social supports as they face the challenges of ASD.
