Hi-5 Sports presents Basketball Season beginning in December. Hi-5 Sports strives to provide an environment which allows people with special needs to build self-esteem, confidence, and friendships through sports by providing opportunities to socialize, compete and exercise both their motor and life skills.

Basketball is offered for three skill levels including Beginners, Intermediates and Advanced.

Parent to Parent of NYS and Westchester & Putnam Independent Living Centers are accepting application for parents, grandparents and guardians of individuals with disabilities to participate in the Family Empowerment Advocacy Series which takes place once per year. This series will help prepare participants to better advocate within the education system and as a volunteer to assist other families The training includes in formation about the special education process, including the laws, regulations and policies related to students with disabilities and aims to improve communication and develop effective advocacy skills.


Participants are selected through an application process and must reside in one of the following counties: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Orange, Putnam, Rensselaer, Rockland, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Sullivan, Ulster, Warren, Washington and Westchester. There are no fees for this training; however participants are expected to attend all training sessions in person and webinars to meet the requirements listed in the letter attached below.
