Transitioning Everyone to Access College and Higher Learning (TEACH) presents a Transition Conference on Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Are you or someone you care about planning on graduating high school in the near future? Attend this informative conference where you will learn post-secondary education opportunities available to students with disabilities. Presenters will inform participants about their programs and how students with disabilities can access college and higher learning opportunities.

   

Presenters from local agencies and colleges will provide information about their supports, services, and programs. An agency fair will also be held throughout this event. This event is ideal for parents, educators, guidance counselors and students.

PTAC and ECDC and RSE-TASC present a FREE conference featuring Brian Mendler, "Discipline with Dignity" on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Discipline with Dignity approach is a flexible program for effective school and home management that teaches responsible thinking, cooperation, mutual respect, and shared decision-making. You’ll learn a variety of ways for defusing power struggles; as well as problem solving; calming and self-control strategies. It helps children develop a sense of self-esteem and gives them the encouragement and tools necessary for making responsible decisions in their lives. You’ll leave this conference with a variety of strategies you’ll be able to use immediately in your own classroom or home.
