The Adaptive Teen Time at the Brooklyn Public Library offers teens with and without disabilities the opportunity to learn skills and make friends in a collaborative environment that promotes creativity and critical thinking skills.

 

Play a game, create music or make a new friend at the Adaptive Teen Time Progam.

Adapt Community Network presents the free workshop Empowered Parents, Empowered Children: Tools for Self-Management on Thursday, July 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This workshop will provide parents, caregivers, and professionals with specific skills and strategies for connecting with a child to inspire a change in behavior. Participants will learn identifying the child's strengths to create success. Also learn what triggers unwanted behaviors, structure situations to prevent behavioral problems that are avoidable as well as how to create rules, communicate expectations and increase connection with the child to build mutual trust. This workshop will be presented by Ramapo for Children

Adapt Community Network presents the free workshop How to Address Busing Issues on Thursday, Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Learn how to address problems that can arise when students with disabilities are bused to and from school. The late arrival and drop off of children from the bus and concerns about behavior will also be discussed. This workshop will be presented by Ruth DiRoma, Family Educator - Include NYC formerly RCSN.

Adapt Community Network presenta el taller gratuito Cómo hacer frente a los problemas de autobuses el jueves 10 de agosto de 10 a.m. a 12 p.m. Aprenda a manejar los problemas que pueden surgir cuando los estudiantes con discapacidades son transportados hacia y desde la escuela. También se discutirá el retraso en la llegada y la salida de los niños del autobús y las preocupaciones sobre el comportamiento.
