We are still looking for more Parent to Parent Support parents! If you are a parent of a child with a disability or a special medical condition who would be willing to share occasionally a small amount of your time to connect via telephone or e-mail with a parent who is in need of information, support or a listening "ear", please call us at 1-800-305-8815. Your support of, and participation in, our program would be greatly appreciated!!!

SUNY Upstate Medical University will be running a social skills group for children ages 10-12 with High Functioning Autism and Asperger's this fall. A parent group will run simultaneously and, if there is enough interest, a sibling group will run at the same time. Interested families should contact Amy Beal at 315-464-3185 or Aaron Gleason at 315-464-3191 at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Dept of Psychiatry.

Advocate – the Central NY Family Support Services Consumer Councils Need You.
        Parents of children with a developmental disability are needed to participate on the Family Support Consumer Council to develop and monitor family support services for the 8 counties region of Central NY DDSO
        The Family Support Consumer Councils work in partnership with the Developmental Disabilities Services Offices to develop and monitor policies, services and supports to enhance a family's ability to provide in-home care to their family member with a developmental disability. Services range from counseling and training, respite, recreation, to family reimbursement for the purchases of goods and services.
